Driver wins just three weeks after puncturing lung

I've raced with my legs broke, heart bruised, eyes poppin' out of my head like they were on springs. This is gonna go away like anything else. As far as I'm concerned...I'm gonna live forever. -Rowdy Burns, Days Of ThunderBurt Myers2010 Track Champion Burt Myers won the season opener Saturday night at Bowman Gray Stadium, taking the lead with 18 laps to go to beat Jonathan Brown and Brian Loftin. Myers took the lead late after a bold, and unusual move of pitting for tires with 50 laps to go. The move paid off, and Myers was able to move back through the field to notch the win. But that's not the story. Myers was in a wreck in a Supermodified crash at Ace Speedway, in North Carolina, on April 15th, breaking two ribs and puncturing a lung. Three weeks later, the guy's in victory lane. Winston-Salem's Bowman Gray is no walk in the park, either.
