JONES LOVING ADRL'S PRO NITROUS RACING

After competing on-and-off in NHRA Pro Stock the past three years, 23-year-old Rickie Jones made his Pro Nitrous debut early in March in the Shakedown at Jones_Palm Beach at South Florida’s Palm Beach International Raceway (PBIR). He left suitably impressed.

“When you start this thing, compared to a 500-inch Pro Stock car, it’s a lot deeper sounding; it sounds really good. I like the exhaust coming out the side. The RPMs are lower, but you can really feel the power, the animal that it is,” Jones says. “These cars are really cool; they’ve got a lot of power, especially when the nitrous kicks on. That’s when the fun really starts.”

Jones had plenty of fun at the Shakedown, qualifying on top of a star-studded Pro Mod field with an impressive 3.84 pass before making it all the way to the final round where he finished runner-up to driving mentor Shannon Jenkins in a similarly prepped RJ Race Cars-built ’68 Camaro.
